Laboratory is conducting a fundamental research in field of thermal analysis and possibility of thermal initiation of explosive materials and characterization that includes: - Thermal characterization of materials (determination of heat capacity, heat and temperature of phase transitions, melting and decomposition, thermal stability, life estimation etc.).
- Mechanical characterization of materials (determination of modulus of elasticity, glass transition temperature, coefficient of thermal expansion, time-temperature superposition etc.)
- Mechanism study and kinetic reaction of thermal decomposition of materials
- Estimation of self ignition critical parameters for explosive materials, from the values of kinetic parameters of thermal decomposition and theory of thermal explosion.
- Numerical modeling of combustion, detonation and thermal ignition of explosion materials
