Laboratory for electro-hydraulics and pneumatics


1) Preparation of equipment under pressure for periodic examinations and testing and for pre-commissioning examinations / Testing of hydraulic accumulators filled with nitrogen gas (pressure measurements, charging hydraulic accumulators, replacement of bags, pressure tests)/ Testing and adjustment of safety valves;/ Commissioning of hydraulic systems / Maintenance of hydraulic systems / Inspection of hydraulic systems.

Laboratory for acoustics 


2) Measurement and assessment of environmental noise */ Field measurements of airborne sound insulation between rooms / Field measurements of airborne sound insulation of facade elements and facades **/ Field measurements of impact sound insulation of floors.

Laboratory for vibration and shock 


 1) ) Mechanical resistance tests due to vibrations, bumps and shocks by help of electro-dynamic or electro-hydraulic vibration table, bump apparatus, and free fall shock machine. Mechanical resistance testing of devices or equipment to hydrostatic pressure in a pressure vessel having a volume of 4 m3 and a pressure range of 0 -140 bar/ Testing strength of metal structures using electro-resistant strain gauges connected into a half bridge circuit and supplied with DC measuring amplifier / Testing torsional vibration using electro-resistant strain gauges connected into a full Wheatstone Bridge circuit by means of wireless transmission of signals from a rotating shaft / Testing of mechanical pipe fittings and flexible rubber hoses with fittings (checking for mechanical damage of the fittings and tightness to liquids, tests include: tightness test, pull-out test, burst test, pressure pulsation test, vibration-fatigue test and ageing test).

Laboratory for thermal analysis 


 1)Thermal characterization of materials (determination of heat capacity; temperature and heat of thermal decomposition, melting, boiling and phase transitions; thermal stability, life cycle estimation etc.)/ Thermomechanical characterization of materials ( determination of modulus of elasticity, loss modulus, loss tangent, glass transition temperature, heat transfer coefficient, temperature-time superposition)/ Investigation of mechanisms and kinetics of the reactions of thermal decomposition of materials / Assessment of critical conditions for self-ignition of explosive hazardous materials based on the values of thermal decomposition kinetic parameters and thermal explosion theory / Research of the ageing process and life cycle assessment of materials / Numerical modelling of combustion, detonation and thermal initiation of explosives.

Calibration laboratory for acoustics and vibration


1) Calibration Laboratory for Acoustics and Vibration is the place where the national primary standards of sound pressure in air, in water, and of vibration acceleration are maintained. Here all the procedures required for calibration of sound level meters, sound calibrators, microphones and underwater sound and vibration measuring instrumentation are carried out. In this way, the traceability in accordance with the national standards that ensure the units of measure in compliance with the International System of Units (SI) is provided.




 Laboratory for internal calibration of measuring instruments

1) ) Periodical measurements of all relevant characteristics of the equipment used in the process of calibration of measuring instruments for airborne sound, underwater sound and vibration.


Physical-chemical laboratory



1) Measurements in the process of anaerobic and aerobic digestion of waste material (solid or liquid) and measurements done for the purpose of characterization of waste material, wastewater, sludges and SRF (by measuring the process parameters: temperature, and by continuous measurement of the composition of the produced biogas, wastewater, or waste subjected to digestion);/ Preliminary evaluation of the biogas production potential of waste material. During characterization of waste material it is necessary to determine the composition of the waste material, wherein the carbon content and biological activity of the waste material –the real dynamic respiration index – are considered as the most important parameters. Some other parameters are also measured: dry matter and ash in the waste material, nitrogen content, pH value; / After the methane exhaustion by anaerobic or aerobic digestion, the composition of the residual waste material –digestate is determined.
